Good literature evenings

A creative group Kaks Jaaku (The Two Jaak’s) travels around Pärnu county in Estonia, presenting literature and poems of creators of Estonia and other countries. They also add own creation. The recitals are accompanied with music and sometimes pictures. All places visited are small and these events called ‘Hää kirjanduse õhtud’ (Good Literature Evenings) create opportunities for communities to have more chance to come out of homes and relate to culture.

First season took place from February-May 2013 and was quite popular. Around 500 people from 10 different places in Pärnu county were touched with these evenings. The first season presented 5 different programs from 25 different authors that also included Vonnegut, Lope de Vega, Byron, Marquez, Hauptmann, Ionesco etc.

The activity continues in September 2013 and presents new programs. A radio show on local station is also prepared, airing once a month and discussing stories and poems by local people who are not professionals.
